McNeese baseball to play 33 games at home this season

LAKE CHARLES – The McNeese Cowboys will play 33 baseball games at Joe Miller Ballpark.

McNeese baseball coach Justin Hill has released the schedule for the upcoming 2023 season. The slate of games features three 2022 NCAA Tournament participants, and a few first-time opponents.

The Cowboys are coming off a regular season conference championship for its third straight title (regular season or tournament), will open the season with a three-game series at home against Creighton (February 17-19).

McNeese will face off against first-time opponents George Washington (March 3-5), Yale (March 17-19), and Miami of Ohio (May 17-19). All three of those series will be held at Joe Miller Ballpark.

McNeese will also visit Sam Houston (Feb. 21) followed by a three-game series at former SLC foe UT Arlington (Feb. 24-26). Following that series, McNeese will then host Louisiana (Feb. 28) and will make a return trip east on I-10 on March 8.

The Cowboys will go to Southern (March 1) while the Jaguars will come to Lake Charles (March 28).

McNeese opens up Southland Conference play at home against Nicholls (March 24-26). Other league home series will include Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (April 6-8), New Orleans (April 21-23), and Lamar (May 5-7).

McNeese will also visit Rice (April 12) and LSU (May 16).
