Acadiana Native Plant Project

Here is a chance to learn about the indigenous plant life of Louisiana. A free workshop is coming up in Breaux Bridge on Saturday, October 24th. This event is organized by Bayou Vermilion Preservation Association, T.E.C.H.E. Project, and Acadiana Native Plant Project.

The workshop begins at 9 am at Parc des Pont Breaux in Breaux Bridge. This outdoor class is part of a series that teaches the public on how to promote watershed restoration and resiliency in Louisiana’s landscapes. Attendees will learn the importance of native plants along waterways. Those who attend will also be gifted with a free local plant. There is no cost to attend. Registration is required to show up for the workshop.

There is a limit of 25 participants that are allowed to attend. Organizers are encouraging everyone to wear a mask and to practice social distancing. There will be extra plants available for anyone who is interested. Be sure to bring a shovel, gloves, and a filled water bottle.
