Astros Trade Odorizzi to Braves

The Houston Astros are a part of a third deal less than 24 hours before the MLB trade deadline on August 2nd at 5:00 p.m. Central time. Houston’s right-handed pitcher Jake Odorizzi is being sent to Atlanta for the Braves left-handed reliever Will Smith.

Odorizzi so far in the 2022 season is 7-5 with a 3.75 ERA. In 60 innings pitched, he’s given up 52 hits and five home runs while throwing 46 strikeouts.

Smith is 33 years old and is 0-1 on the season with a 4.38 ERA. He’s given up 35 hits and 25 runs, but 41 strikeouts in 37 innings this season.
