Louisiana put their seven-game win streak on the line against Georgia Southern inside the Cajundome. Down 49-30 at the half, Louisiana roared back to outscore the Eagles 64-38 to win 94-87.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Louisiana opened their scoring with back-to-back threes from Greg Williams Jr to continue his streak of good performances from behind the arc, but Georgia Southern had an answer for every jab the Cajuns threw, as the game was tied 8-8 at the first media timeout with 14:15 remaining in the first half.

Georgia Southern went on a 9-4 run for the next few minutes, shooting very well from the free-throw line extended which led to a 17-12 advantage as Tyren Moore led GSU with six.

The slump for the Cajuns continued as Georgia Southern went on a 9-0 run before Bob Marlin called a timeout to discuss with his team. At the 7:42 mark of the first half, Louisiana found themselves in a 26-14 hole. Moore led all scorers with nine.

Louisiana’s offense came back a bit in the next frame, outscoring GSU 10-9 to cut it to 11 with right at four minutes remaining in the first half. Greg Williams Jr led the Cajuns with 11 points at this stage in the contest.

At the halftime break, Louisiana trailed 49-30 after a controversial ending to the half. Tyren Moore led all scorers at the break with 14 points for the Eagles. Georgia Southern shot 69% from the field in the first half, including 67% from behind the arc.

Louisiana came out of the locker room firing, with Kentrell Garnett hitting two three-pointers to give the Cajuns some momentum as they outscored Georgia Southern 10-4 over the first four minutes of the half.

Louisiana continued closing the gap, outscoring the Eagles 13-7 over the next four minutes to cut it to seven points at the 11:32 mark of the second half. Greg Williams had 17 at the media break for the Cajuns.

Charles hits an awesome 3 pointer and we are all tied up!!!!

Louisiana continued the offensive execution, outscoring the Eagles 13-4 once again to take the 66-64 lead with 8:03 remaining in the game.

At the final media timeout, Louisiana had a 79-73 lead over Georgia Southern to outscore the Eagles 49-24 in the first 16 minutes of the second half. Greg Williams continues to lead the Cajuns with 19 while Jordan Brown has 18 and Terence Lewis has 16.

The Cajuns were able to close it out down the back stretch to secure their 8th straight win, 94-87.

BIG NUMBER: 64

Louisiana scored 64 points in the second half alone to make a 19-point comeback to win 94-87.

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Terence Lewis II/Joe Charles

Lewis had another monster performance, scoring 16 points on 4-9 shooting with 8-10 from the free throw line. The North Texas transfer also added 11 rebounds in the contest.

Charles was just a disruptive nightmare for the Eagles, making big plays, crashing the boards, and hitting some big shots down the stretch.

UP NEXT: Louisiana will return to the Cajundome to take on Texas State looking for their ninth straight win. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm.
