Cajuns

The Ragin Cajuns, behind a phenomenal performance from Wyatt Marks. got their third straight Sun Belt Conference championship on Sunday afternoon with a 5-0 shutout of Georgia Southern.

After what started out as a pitchers duel, the Cajuns got on the board in the bottom of the fifth with a double down the left field line to score Nick Thurman. Later in the inning, Joe Robbins made it 2-0 with an RBI single through the right side.

Kyle Clement made it 3-0 in the bottom of the seventh with a sac fly to left field to score Hunter Kasuls. Jump to the bottom of the eighth, the Cajuns put it away with Jam Williams scoring off a wild pitch and Nick Thurman blasting one over the right field wall in the same at-bat.

Marks improved to 5-6 on the year allowing four hits and striking out 10 in seven innings of work. Dylan Moore tied the school record for saves with 13 after Sunday allowing two hits, and striking out two in two innings of work.

The Cajuns will now wait to see who they face off in the NCAA Tournament.
