Foodbank Needs Volunteers

National Guard soldiers have served at Second Harvest Food Bank for the past 2 years. They’ll be leaving for their next assignment in just a few weeks.
Our news partners at KLFY report the soldiers will leave at the beginning of April. Second Harvest reports the departure of soldiers will leave a void in manpower. The soldiers have contributed approximately 100,000 man-hours. They arrived in 2020, helping through back-to-back hurricanes, Covid 19, and last year’s freeze. Their departure effectively cuts the food bank’s staff by 50%. Volunteers are needed to take up the slack.
