GET TO KNOW THE GAME: What is your favorite Cajun-Creole dish?

Posted by Raymond Partsch III on May 12, 2022 in Blogs, Featured, Hannah's Blog, James's Blog, Latest News, Miguez's Blog, RP3's Blogs, What's Hot

Every week the lineup of THE GAME 103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles — Southwest Louisiana’s Sports Station will share a little something about themselves.
This week the team answers the question: “What is your favorite Cajun-Creole dish?”

Hannah Five Names (Morning Producer)
“My favorite Cajun/Creole dish would have to be crawfish Étouffée mainly because it was one of the first dishes I had when I got to Lafayette for college and I have never considered red beans and rice or my Paw Paw’s rice and gravy to be Cajun. I also love rice so any creamy substance, especially with crawfish on top of my rice is DELICIOUS!!!!”

Matt Miguez (Host of Crunchtime with Miguez & Meche)
“I have to say Crawfish Étouffée. It’s one of those Cajun dishes that you can eat any time of the year, unlike gumbo, which I also really enjoy. I also like rice and gravy, red beans and rice, chicken sauce piquant. What can I say? I’m from Crowley, I like rice!”

Clint Domingue (Host of Under the Dome)
“It has to be rice and gravy, that is an absolute establishment of a meal n the state of Louisiana. Probably have had that meal with almost every vegetable under the sun and it’s never anything short of outstanding. Outside of that, I’m all for some shrimp Étouffée, or anything involving shrimp for that matter.”

Raymond Partsch III (Host of RP3 & Company)
“I am extremely blessed to be married to a wonderful Cajun woman, and one who is a phenomenal cook. Her chicken and sausage gumbo, with turkey necks, is fantastic. Two of my other personal favorite dishes, which I had never tried before meeting her, are shrimp and egg stew and catfish Catfish Courtbouillon. That said, if I had to pick just one dish it would be my wife’s crawfish Étouffée . It is hands down the best I have ever had.”

Jordy Hultberg (Host of The Jordy Hultberg Show)
“Growing up in New Orleans, Mondays meant red beans and rice, sausage & corn bread. My mom was the master of it. To this day, the tradition remains alive & well. Every Monday, it’s red beans & rice, sausage & corn bread. My favorite.”

James Meche (Afternoon Shows Producer)
“You can never go wrong with crawfish etouffee, but I like to eat regular crawfish a little more. I’m the type to eat the tail, get as much as I can out of the claws, and suck the heads. I’m always the last to finish, but I want to get the most and enjoy every bit out of my crawfish because I’m only able to go to about three boils a year.”

Kevin Foote (Host of Footenotes)
“My grandparents were rice farmers, so I grew up eating rice. I always said if I never did anything really stupid one game when the 49ers cheated the Saints, my last meal would be rice and gravy with as many beans I could find on top of it. I guess I don’t really know for sure what’s technically under the Cajun/Creole category, but if you’ve eaten rice and gravy from a Cajun chef, you know the difference. I can’t describe how to make it, but I sure know how to eat it. Also love shrimp stew with egg … but really just about anything with rice and a gravy and veggies – all mixed together.”
