GET TO KNOW THE GAME: What was your favorite school lunch?

Posted by Raymond Partsch III on September 22, 2022 in Blogs, Featured, Hannah's Blog, James's Blog, Latest News, Miguez's Blog, RP3's Blogs

Every few weeks the lineup of THE GAME 103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles — Southwest Louisiana’s Sports Station will share a little something about themselves.
This week the team answers the question:

“What was your favorite school lunch?”

Hannah Five Names (Morning Producer)
“I think of all the school lunches my favorite was in middle school when we had turkey or meatloaf because we had some BOMB mashed potatoes and gravy and this perfectly mushy and salted spinach. We made it better because a friend of mine had Type 2 Diabetes and with what little he could eat, he always had Tony’s that we hid at recess and would grab on our way to lunch.”

Matt Miguez (Host of Crunchtime with Miguez & Meche)
“My favorite school lunch was either nachos or gumbo. But there was a time where school had these grilled pieces of chicken basted in honey mustard that were chef’s kiss.”

Clint Domingue (Host of Under the Dome)
“As a proud Carencro High alum, I’ve got to go with the gold standard that is pocketbread. A very close second was pizza day at the cafeteria when I was in elementary and middle school – a bag of milk may not have been the best drink to pair with the meal but what are you going to do?”

Raymond Partsch III (Host of RP3 & Company)
“I loved when we had salisbury steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, and of course who doesn’t love pizza day at school? It was always great but my favorite was always when they served up sloppy joe’s (cue the lyric from “Lunch Lady Land” if you want). It was of course super messy but it was always delicious.”

Jordy Hultberg (Host of The Jordy Hultberg Show)
“My favorite school lunch was my high school’s lasagna served with the best soft butter topped roll. I would always ask for two and because I was so thin, they always obliged. So good.”

James Meche (Afternoon Shows Producer)
“The pizza at school was something I would look forward to when we got our lunch schedule. Another school lunch that was slept on and is probably something that is more recent. That would be the Asian chicken, it wasn’t orange chicken and it wasn’t really sweet and sour either. It had its own unique flavor that I can’t explain. The lunch ladies knew what they were doing when they came up with that masterpiece. Chef’s kiss.”

Kevin Foote (Host of Footenotes)
“I liked them all, but somehow I remember this tuna fish casserole that I probably wouldn’t like today, but I ate a lot of it back then.”
