Jordan Leads March of Four Saints to the Pro Bowl

The postseason fate of the New Orleans Saints has yet to be determined, but the team did learn that four players will be playing in the 2021 Pro Bowl, as the NFL announced initial rosters on Wednesday afternoon.

New Orleans will be represented by defensive end Cam Jordan, running back Alvin Kamara, cornerback Marshon Lattimore, and special teams ace JT Gray on Feb. 6 in Las Vegas.

For the veteran Jordan, his great week just continues to get better. After helping the Saints shut out Tom Brady and the Buccaneers on Sunday, Jordan was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week. Now, he’s earned his seventh career Pro Bowl selection, breaking a tie with Rickey Jackson for most by a defensive player in team history, and tying him with Willie Roaf for second-most among Saints’ players all-time.

While Jordan has not been as statistically dominant as in years past, he remains a key component of the NFL’s sixth-ranked defense.

Playing in 13 games this season, Jordan has 42 tackles, including six quarterback sacks, along with a pair of forced fumbles. His two sacks against the Bucs made him a member of the 100-sack club, where he joins Jackson as the only players to reach triple digits while wearing the black and gold.

Alvin Kamara, with his fifth selection, becomes the first player in franchise history to earn a nod in each of his first five seasons.

Kamara leads the Saints with 1,016 total yards from scrimmage and eight touchdowns (four rushing, four receiving).

Named to the Pro Bowl for the fourth time in five seasons, Marshon Lattimore continues to stake his claim as one of the very best cornerbacks in the NFL.

This season, Lattimore has a league-best 18 pass break ups, 59 tackles, and two interceptions.

Though listed as a safety, J.T. Gray makes his biggest impact on special teams. He leads all special-teamers with 14 tackles this season, and is the first Saints player since Fred McAfee in 2002 to make the Pro Bowl as a non-specialist.
