Daimion Collins is coming to Baton Rouge.

The former five-star prospect and McDonald’s All-American made his announcement of tranferring to LSU official on Thursday.

The 6-foot-9, 210-pound sophomore played sparingly the past two seasons for the Kentucky Wildcats.

Collins averaged less than eight minutes per game and averaged 1.9 points and 1.9 rebounds per game during the 2022-23 season. His freshman season he averaged 2.9 points and 2 rebounds per game.

The Atlanta, Texas native was one of the most heralded prospects coming out of high school.

During his senior season at Atlanta High, Collins averaged 35.2 points, 14.4 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 6.2 blocks per game. Collins was a consensus five-star prospect and the Texas Gatorade Player of the Year.

Coming out of high school, Collins selected Kentucky over Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Baylor, Houston, LSU, Texas A&M, Alabama and Oklahoma State.

Collins will have two years of eligiblity remaining.

With the addition of Collins, LSU second-year men’s basketball coach Matt McMahon has now added six players from the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason.

Collins joins guard-forward Jordan Wright (Vanderbilt), point guard Jalen Cook (Tulane), point guard Carlos Stewart (Santa Clara), center Will Baker (Nevada), and forward Hunter Dean (George Washington).

LSU went 14-19 overall last season.
