The LSU Tigers will begin the 2020 football season ranked as Top 5 team.
LSU landed at No. 5 in the Amway Coaches Preseason Poll which was released on Thursday. The Tigers, who are coming a 15-0 national championship season, received six first-place votes in the preseason poll.
LSU was one of four teams from the Southeastern Conference in the Top 10 of the preseason poll with Alabama (No. 3), Georgia (No. 4) and Florida (No. 8) also landing in the Top 10. Auburn (No. 11) and Texas A&M (No. 13) were the two other SEC teams ranked in the Top 25.
LSU is scheduled to open up the 2020 season on Saturday, September 26th. The opponent is unknown as of right now as the SEC is working on unveiling its new 10-game conference only schedule for all teams.
