LSU’s freshmen lead way to win over McNeese State

The LSU Tigers struggled early, but after a 27-0 run that started towards the end of the second half, the Tigers were able to hold off McNeese State to win 81-70.

Antonio Blakeney led the way for the Tigers in his collegiate debut with 22 points, 10 boards, an assist, and a steal. Brandon Sampson wasn’t far behind with 18 points, three boards, a block, and two steals.

Ben Simmons performed well with nine points and 10 boards heading into the half and ended his night with 11 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists.

The Tigers (1-0) will stay at the PMAC and take on Kennesaw State on November 16th with tipoff set for 8 pm.
