MECHE’S FRIDAY FIVE: What to Watch for in Saints-Vikings Game

The New Orleans Saints are looking to bounce back after two straight losses to divisional opponents. This next game will occur across the pond in London, England as the Black and Gold get ready to play the Minnesota Vikings. Here are five things to look out for in this Week 4 matchup:

1) HOW WILL NEW ORLEANS DEFENSE GUARD JUSTIN JEFFERSON:

The former LSU Tiger has been breaking records since he joined the league. Marshon Lattimore is a top corner, but he often stays on the boundaries while Jefferson is flexible and could often line up inside and in the slot.

2) WHO REMAINS UNDEFEATED IN LONDON:

Both teams are 2-0 when they’ve traveled to play in London, England. Minnesota defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers back in 2013 and the Cleveland Browns in 2017. New Orleans took down the then San Diego Chargers in 2008 and shut out the Miami Dolphins in 2017. The Saints will also be unveiling their new alternate black helmet on Sunday.

3) HOW WILL ANDY DALTON LOOK UNDER CENTER:

Jameis Winston has been listed as doubtful, so we don’t expect the Lasik Laser to play Sunday morning. During the preseason, Dalton looked really good as he led multiple touchdown drives against the Houston Texans and Los Angeles Chargers. The Red Rifle will not have star Michael Thomas and other skill players like Alvin Kamara and Jarvis Landry are questionable.

4) WILL THE TIME DIFFERENCE AFFECT THE GAME:

The Black and Gold left Carolina and went across the pond right after their last game against the Panthers while the Vikings didn’t travel until the middle of the week. The six-hour time difference has affected the quality of the previous NFL in London games.

5) SAINTS OFFENSIVE LINE VS VIKINGS DEFENSIVE LINE:

New Orleans’ offensive line play has had moments of being good as well as being poor. Minnesota has some studs that’ll be coming off of the edges. One is another former Tiger in Danielle Hunter and a sack expert in Za’Darius Smith who can cause a good deal of disruption on Sunday.

Kickoff is set for Sunday, October 2nd at 8:30 a.m.
