Parish Proud is encouraging all residents in Lafayette to do something that will make our city a little prettier during the month of October. Then share that act on social media using the hashtag #PickUpLFT.
Parish Proud is a local organization that is focused on improving Lafayette Parish. One small action can make a big difference. This is a challenge for everyone! Individuals, families, organizations and community leaders are all encouraged to participate.
Here’s a few examples of what you can do to “Pick up, Lafayette,” and improve the place that we live:
You can pick litter! It can be trash around your home, at the local playground, or at a business.
You can do yard work. Mow the grass in an overgrown lot or yard, or edge an overgrown sidewalk or curb.
You can remove debris from the side of highway or road. Just be sure to look both ways and be careful for traffic.
Update the striping in your businesses parking lot.
Help a school or neighborhood with landscaping.
Paint a mural on a fence.
Wave to a neighbor or to anyone. Smile!
Anything that makes Lafayette Parish a happier and more beautiful place to live. Remember to document the deed and take a photo to post online. Use the hashtag #PickUpLFT
