The regular season came to an unexpected end on Saturday for the UL Ragin’ Cajuns softball team.
Due to continued inclement weather in the Monroe area that made the ULM softball field unplayable, the series doubleheader between the Cajuns and the rival in-state Warhawks was canceled.
No. 8 UL (47-4) completed the regular season with an unblemished Sun Belt mark at 25-0. This year’s Ragin’ Cajuns team becomes only the second team in program and conference history to finish league play undefeated, joining the 2004 group (went 18-0).
UL head coach Gerry Glasco’s team will now turn its attention to the start of postseason play which begins on Thursday, May 9 at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in San Marcos, Texas.
The official tournament bracket will be announced later on Saturday.
