Meche’s Fantasy Football Advice – Love/Hate Week 4

Week 3 did not disappoint by any means. There were records being rewritten and a couple of crazy upsets. Week 4, we are looking for more of the same and in some of these week 4 games, there are some matchups that are favorable and some that are not so friendly. Here are some players who have matchups that I love and hate.

LOVE

Chuba Hubbard – Hubbard will fill in much of the Christian McCaffrey role and get a huge bump in targets. His snap percentage jumped significantly after CMC went out with an injury and was on the field virtually every play after that.

Odell Beckham Jr – Odell looked good in his first game coming off that torn ACL. This matchup versus the Vikings is promising with Minnesota’s defense getting thrown on each of the first three weeks where the number one receiver of each team has gone off for big games and scoring touchdowns.

Logan Thomas – The Falcons defense has been one of the worst defenses trying to defend the tight end position, averaging a touchdown given up per game. Thomas has played every offensive snap for Washington and is starting to become one of Heinicke’s favorite targets.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine – Both AJ Brown and Julio Jones’ chances of playing this week looks bleak. In last week’s game, Westbrook-Ikhine caught all of his targets, lead the team in receiving yards and got into the endzone. The Titans next matchups is against the Jets who haven’t been able to stop anyone yet.

Joe Burrow – Joe had a nice bounce-back game against the Steelers and tossed three touchdowns passes after he threw three picks against the Bears in week 2. This week, the Bengals play the Jags at home where quarterbacks who play the Jacksonville defense have averaged 21 fantasy points this season.

HATE

Saquon Barkley – Even though Saquon had his first good game of the season, he’s very touchdown dependent. Barkley’s next matchup is against the Saints, a team who’s one of the best at stuffing the run and will be making their long awaited return to the Super Dome since before the pandemic began. This offensive line of the Giants can’t run block and can’t create any running lane for Saquon to go through.

Damien Harris – This’ll be the second tough matchup in a row against a team that loves to suffocate the run. The Patriots run game was eliminated when they played the Saints and I expect more of the same as Tom Brady and that Tampa Bay Bucs defense head up to Foxborough for the revenge game of the year.

Ben Roethlisberger – Big Ben has looked as mobile as a tree thus far and is ranked as the 26th best fantasy quarterback. Roethlisberger has under performed in each of the first three games and the whole Pittsburgh Steelers team seemed to have given up the second half of last week’s contest against the Bengals. Not many good signs for the team from the steel city.

Kenny Golladay – The top three receivers for the Giants are all questionable for their next game and if Golladay is to play. This matchup versus the Saints isn’t favorable by any means. Cornerback Marshon Lattimore has been playing some of his best football of his career and has been taking team’s best receivers out of the game.

Rob Gronkowski – Tom Brady and Red Zone Robbie G are headed back to their old stomping ground in New England. Bill Belichick will look to eliminate Gronk from as a threat in the passing game and make Brady as uncomfortable as possible.
